We told the realtor this place would not work and asked if they had anything else that better met our needs. Of course they do but it is a lot more expensive per day. Good old S being the nice (and somewhat wealthy) guy that he is, offered to pay the difference but got first pick of rooms if we liked the place. Well, at first site it was perfect. 6 bedrooms with three suites (private baths), huge living room, dining room, a dock/helipad for the boat and jet ski, a churrasca area on the first floor with pool table, foosball and bar area for a party. Done deal! The lady that managed the place offered to stay and be our cook, maid and run errands whenever we needed anything (R$50 per day). Done deal number two. We got settled into our respective rooms and sent the realtors and our house manager out for provisions. I do not think they had ever purchased so much food at one time in their lives. With cases of fruit, meats, vegetables, all the condiments and of course a very ample supply of beer, sodas etc. our bill came to a whopping R$1,200 (well, not really. It was more like R$1,080 but we had to pay a 10% premium for their shopping services).
